Handmade Glass Galaxy Egg with Opal Planet, v609
A pocket-sized cosmos: swirling nebulae wrap around a luminous opal planet, and the whole scene brightens the moment daylight passes through the clear glass. The egg shape asks to be picked up and turned, each rotation revealing another sweep of colour.
Self-taught glass artist Sinem shapes every egg by hand at her torch in Akrata, on the Greek coast. She layers Pyrex-grade borosilicate into a miniature galaxy, floats an opal crescent moon inside, and kiln-anneals it for strength. No mould, no repeat, one of a kind.
