A snail carrying a galaxy on its back. This playful sculpture pairs a handblown glass shell full of swirling cosmos with a curious little creature, and under UV light the whole piece glows, revealing hidden color you cannot see by day.
Sinem creates each galaxy snail by hand in her studio in Akrata, a seaside town in Greece. She lampworks borosilicate (Pyrex-grade) glass, building the galaxy marble shell with the implosion technique and adding UV-reactive glass so it comes alive under blacklight. Every snail is sculpted individually and is one of a kind.
